For our final day in Prague we had decided to try in and cram in as much as we could, as there was still so much to see! First stop was Wenceslas Square. This is the central 'hub' in Prague and where may of the stag do's start from, or end up at, but as we got there early it was still quite quiet.
However, we weren't really impressed, and after a quick lunch (more dumplings for me!) we decided to move on to the Old Town Square. Up until this point, although it had been busy, Prague didn't seem overly busy or full of tourist. I now know it's because they were all in the square the whole time!
One thing I was sure I wanted to see whilst we were in Prague was the Astronomical clock. The clock dates back to the 1400s and is the oldest working astronomical clock in the world. I couldn't quite figure out how it worked or what it was really for (and still can't) but it was very interesting to watch.
Whilst wandering round the square and checking out the great range of architecture I was distracted by these gentlemen.
Luckily George was just as taken by them and we decided to take a carriage ride round cobbled roads. It was a little more expensive than I was expecting but as, so far, the week had been pretty cheap we decide who are we to stint on romance.
Now, I'm not really one to learn from my mistakes, and even after our visit to the absinthe bar the other evening I was sure absinthe couldn't really taste bad in icecream form. I was wrong, after one try this wonderful green creation went straight in the bin.
After a little more wandering we found ourselves back at the river and looking longingly at the boats. Having spent a small sum on the carriage ride we thought hiring a boat might be a little costly but we were pleasantly surprised at how cheap it was. It was also the most fun of the whole break. We got to see Prague from a different view and took masses of photos.
I've now learned that I cannot row in a straight line but we didn't fall in, so gold stars all round.
As the sun started to set we headed to our favourite bar to finish the week with just a little bit more beer.
Some may say a little bit too much beer, but it was a fabulous finish to a fantastic holiday. I would recommend Prague to anyone, and I hope to go again soon. We managed to fit a lot in but there is still more to see and do. Thank you George for the holiday, I loved every part of it!
