A little more LA

One of my favourite stops on our open top bus tour round LA was the La Brea Tar pits. I particularly liked how they had put a statue of a mammoth stuck in the tar being helplessly watched over by a baby mammoth, it really made you feel for the poor mammoths, who are long since dead - damn you LA, playing on my heart strings!

The tar pits are all fenced off (for obvious reasons) but they did have a small section where you could have a little poke and see all the tar. Stuart took this opportunity to pop some shrubbery in and see how thick it was. What you can't tell from the photo below is how much it smelt, or the fact he had tar on his hands for the rest of the day!

My favourite route on the open top bus was through downtown LA. I wasn't all that bothered by Hollywood and Beverly Hills was just full of 'this exclusive restaurant' or 'that fashionable shop' Downtown had a little more character and didn't feel quite so fake.
